T minus 11 days!

We just came from the doctor and she really didn't want us to go over our original due date of 11/15/08, so Brooke will be induced on the morning of 11/11/08!! That means we have ONE week to get everything done and there is an end in sight!

The exam today showed no further dialation but Brooke is now 80% effaced and Dominic's head is at a "0" station (which is typical for people already in labor!).We also had an ultrasound today to measure growth and he is estimated to weight 6 pounds 8 ounces right now. Looks like we will have a 7 lb baby! That's ok with me!! The NST test went fine as well-we will have another next week because of Brooke's ANA blood count levels due to her rheumatoid factor.

I'm not sure all this has sunk in yet--although Dominic is already a troublemaker so there is still a chance he'll arrive before Nov. 11th! YIKES!

Happy Halloween!

We went to pick pumpkins this weekend...After breaking one carving kit, buying another and two hours later...we had carved pumpkins! We both decided there is a very good reason we only do this once a year!! Brooke's is the smiley face & Louie's is the skull. Happy Halloween!

28 days until...

the Ohio State-Michigan game!! We couldn't let Dominic watch his first (of many) OSU/UM games without proper attire....

On a sidenote, we went to our weekly visit today. According to the tape measurement, the baby was measuring a couple weeks behind. They hooked Brooke up to the NST machine and monitored Dominic's heartbeat, movement and any contractions. Everything looked good there so on we were to another ultrasound for measurements. D.T. is measuring right on schedule (36 weeks 6 days) and his estimated weight right now is 6pounds 4 ounces (which is perfect for his "age"). He should/could gain another pound & a half (or more) before his due date. It was such a relief. He's laying on his side, all crunched up with his head very low (most babies are laying on their bellies with their butts up in the air) so that explains the smaller tape measurements. Everything else looked great, the baby was flexing his arm muscles for Dad and looks like he has a LOT of fuzzy hair on his head. <--the tech told us to invest in combs haha. We're both relieved & happy that after a long morning--everything looked perfect.

Big as a WHAT!?!

At week 37, your pregnancy is considered full term, meaning baby is likely to thrive after birth. Baby spends these last weeks in preparation for the outside world… meaning careful refinement of the blink, suck, inhale and exhale. Meconium, which you’ll probably find in the first diaper, is accumulating in the intestines. If (okay, as) you worry about giving birth, consider what it’s like for the little one. During the journey out of your womb, baby will produce more stress hormones than any other time in life.

Somedays it does feel like I'm carrying a small watermelon. I can't believe our little guy has gone from the size of a "poppyseed" to "watermelon"!

Fun at the doctor...

Today we had our 36 week appointment. Lou & I always have so much fun at the doctor--it's like they pump laughing gas through the vents. As for our appointment things looked good...blood pressure was great, I'm 50% effaced and a "fingertip" dialated.

Anyways--this was the clip from "Family Guy" that I watched last night that had us cracking up today at the doctor. Thought I'd share the giggle!!

The Evolution of a Belly...

14 weeks pregnant
24 weeks pregnant
34 weeks pregnant
I've taken a picture every 2 weeks since we found out we were expecting. I just pulled 3 pictures to post. I can't believe how much change there has been! And I could still have 5 more weeks to go!

Our furry babies..

Before this page gets scattered with baby pictures, we'd like to give our "first borns" a little face time!

TJ is a five year old Toy Fox terrier/Chihuahua mix and Sadie is a year old Beagle/Dashaund mix. They are trying to adjust to all the new furniture, toys, and smells that the new nursery has brought. We know they are going to be great with their new baby brother, we've already seen them in action with little Connor!

Welcome!

We decided to start a blog to keep our family & friends updated with what's going on in our lives! Check back, we're still figuring this out!
